Calendar of Events for Fairtrade Fortnight

Saint Mary and Saint Michael's Catholic Church chose to mark Fairtrade Fortnight with a display and during the 6 weeks of Lent will be co-ordinating sales of Fairtrade goods from Traidcraft.

The 1st Gt. Eccleston Beavers from Lancashire learned all about cocoa and chocolate production from Pip a member of Garstang Fairtrade Steering Group. To quote the Akela "They learned a lot about Fairtrade and certainly enjoyed the chocolate!"

What a thoroughly enjoyable and informative Tuesday evening was as we heard about the history and manufacture of Bean to Bar chocolate. Thank you so much Bruce (Crowther). The chocolate was pretty good also.
When you buy a bar of Fairtrade certified chocolate, you are paying the farmer a fair price for her or his labour. So go on treat yourself; the farmer and you both deserve it.

On Saturday morning Garstang Cycle Club gathered at the Market Cross for their annual ride in support of Fairtrade fuelled by Fairtrade Bananas. They must have worked, because they cycled 55 miles and climbed 5,500ft.
Thank you once again
